MAJ, (RET) U. S. ARMY
MAJ Iwen was raised in Sioux City, Iowa and graduated from Black Hills State University in 1976. He served in the U. S. Army for twenty two years as an enlisted soldier and officer.
His service was in the area of Military Intelligence, specializing in Signal Intelligence. His tour of duties included Thailand, Japan, Fort Hauchuca, Fort Carson, Fort Devens, Hawaii and Fort Lewis where he retired in 1995. After retiring from the Army, MAJ Iwen accepted the JROTC Senior Army Instructor position at Lower Brule High School in Lower Brule South Dakota. He remained there for 7 years until he accepted the JROTC Senior Army Instructor position at Pine Ridge High School, Pine Ridge South Dakota in June of 2002. MAJ Iwen is married to Carol and they have three children, one boy, Jason, and two daughters, Jessica and Jeniffer.His hobbies include softball, golf and fishing.
